Fans, mainly women travelled from throughout the West Bank and Jerusalem to the stadium in Dahiyet Al-Barid, in between Jerusalem and Ramallah. The 12,000-seat stadium was filled to capacity.

Among the fans attending were caretaker Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, the chairman of the Palestinian football federation Jibreel Rajoub, senior Fatah and PLO officials, and representatives of other Palestinian factions.

Jordan scored the first goal early in the first half. After several missed opportunities by both teams, Palestine leveled the score midway through the second half, and then scored again on a penalty kick. Jordan then scored again.
